Her feet are delicate, smooth, and painted
His are sturdy, worn, and in trimmed
They both care for them as best as time allows;
I will massage them both at the end of the day.
Her legs are long, toned, and bare
His are shorter, rugged, and furry
They both run as the sun rises;
I will leave a trail of kisses on each, in search of their center.
Her center is soft, velvety, and floral
His is firm, rigid, and musky
They both engorge with the warm sweet blood that pulses through their veins;
Their breath quickens in anticipation of the flicker of my tongue.
Her core is shapely, athletic, and silky
Your boots are no longer by the door,
Your beret is not on its hook,
Your space in the bed is cool and empty,
I miss you.
You car sits abandoned,
Your tools are left unused,
Your books await a good read,
And the dogs wait for you patiently,
They miss you.
My heart is missing a piece,

The drawers open;
I hear you count what you will need.
The rucksack, duffle, and kit bags wait to be packed.
The fabric swishes as your uniforms are stuffed in tight;
I hear the padlock click.
The legal documents are all prepared in the event they are needed.
The phone rings;
I hear you confirm the formation time.
The issued equipment has been inventoried as they are added to the mass.
The last minute details begin to fall into place;
I hear you groan under the weight of what is to come.
The truck is loaded as we head for the flight line.
